Bukavu fait face à une hausse inquiétante des incendies en cette saison sèche. Les habitants sont invités à redoubler de prudence pour éviter de nouvelles catastrophes.

Depuis quelques semaines, la ville de Bukavu connaît une recrudescence d’incendies qui inquiète les autorités locales et les habitants. Plusieurs quartiers ont été touchés, provoquant des dégâts matériels considérables et plongeant des familles entières dans la détresse.

Les derniers sinistres ont été enregistrés dans la nuit du samedi 2 au dimanche 3 août 2025, notamment sur l’avenue Hewa Bora, à Panzi, au Centre d’Apprentissage Professionnel et Artisanal (CAPA) ainsi qu’à Nguba. Plusieurs maisons, des écoles et divers biens de valeur ont été réduits en cendres, laissant de nombreux sinistrés sans abri.

Les causes de ces incendies restent encore floues. Toutefois, les observateurs pointent du doigt plusieurs facteurs récurrents : le stockage de carburant dans les ménages, des installations électriques ou solaires défectueuses, la négligence lors de la cuisson et, plus largement, l’urbanisation anarchique liée à l’exode rural et à l’explosion démographique de la ville.

Face à cette situation, des voix s’élèvent pour appeler à la prudence. Les habitants sont invités à éviter l’entreposage de produits inflammables à domicile, à surveiller les braseros et à renforcer la vigilance face à tout risque de départ de feu.

En parallèle, la population souhaite que les autorités locales multiplient les campagnes de sensibilisation et mettent en place des mesures de prévention efficaces afin de protéger des vies et des biens durant cette période particulièrement à risque.
