Kinshasa, le 21 juin 2025 — Fact-OGL
Dans un contexte de coopération militaire renforcée entre la République Démocratique du Congo (RDC) et l’Ouganda, le Président Félix Tshisekedi a reçu, ce samedi à la Cité de l’Union africaine, le général Muhoozi Kainerugaba, chef d’état-major et commandant de l’armée ougandaise (UPDF), en visite de travail à Kinshasa.
Présent dans la capitale congolaise depuis vendredi, le général Kainerugaba est venu évaluer, avec son homologue congolais, le général Jules Banza Mwilambwe, le déroulement de l’opération militaire conjointe UPDF–FARDC dans l’est de la RDC. Cette mission conjointe vise à neutraliser les groupes armés actifs dans cette région, notamment les ADF, à la base de nombreuses exactions contre les populations civiles.
Profitant de son séjour, le haut gradé ougandais a tenu à présenter ses civilités au Président Tshisekedi, commandant suprême des Forces armées de la RDC (FARDC). Cette rencontre illustre la volonté des deux États de poursuivre leur coopération sécuritaire, malgré les tensions géopolitiques parfois perceptibles dans la région des Grands Lacs.
La rencontre entre les deux chefs militaires, puis avec le chef de l’État congolais, témoigne d’un dialogue stratégique continu pour la stabilité régionale. Toutefois, les opérations conjointes suscitent aussi des débats au sein de l’opinion congolaise, où certains acteurs appellent à une meilleure transparence sur les résultats de ces interventions et leurs impacts sur les civils.
