À propos du festival
Organisé à Kinshasa du 16 au 18 juillet 2025 sous l’égide du gouvernement, ce festival est une initiative de la République Démocratique du Congo en collaboration avec ONU Tourisme.
Véritable passerelle entre l’Afrique, les Amériques et le reste du monde, il met à l’honneur la musique comme moteur de tourisme, d’identité et de développement inclusif.
À travers conférences, expositions, spectacles vivants et circuits culturels, l’événement célèbre la richesse des expressions culturelles — notamment la Rumba congolaise, inscrite au patrimoine immatériel de l’UNESCO.
Ce rendez-vous international s’inscrit dans les priorités du Programme d’Action de l’ONU Tourisme pour l’Afrique, en valorisant la marque Afrique, les industries créatives et l’autonomisation des jeunes.
Ce mercredi 16 juillet 2025, au Centre Culturel et Artistique des Pays de l’Afrique Centrale à Kinshasa, Son Excellence Félix Tshisekedi, président de la RDC, a lancé la toute première édition du Festival Mondial de la Musique et du Tourisme (FMMT), devant un large public composé de participants venus de plusieurs pays.
Un discours fort et un engagement présidentiel
Dans son discours inaugural, le chef de l’État s’est réjoui que ce grand événement soit organisé selon ses directives, tournées vers le renforcement du soft power. Il a exprimé sa volonté de faire de ce rendez-vous un cadre de mobilisation des forces culturelles et de renforcement de l’unité nationale.
« Je me réjouis de voir cet événement d’envergure internationale s’inscrire dans la dynamique de réflexion stratégique que j’ai engagée avec le gouvernement en faveur du soft power congolais. Ce festival incarne notre volonté de mobiliser les forces culturelles et créatives de la nation, raffermir l’unité nationale et projeter une image renouvelée, positive et inspirante de la RDC sur la scène internationale. »
Un festival unificateur et inclusif
Toute civilisation a une culture ; elle en est son identité. Séduit par la thématique « La route de la Rumba de la paix en RDC », le Président a présenté cette première édition comme un pont entre les cultures présentes à Kinshasa et une opportunité d’harmonisation culturelle à l’échelle africaine et mondiale.
« À travers sa thématique, ce festival se veut un carrefour d’échanges, un pont entre les cultures du monde, une célébration de la diversité comme levier d’harmonie entre les peuples. Il met en lumière le rôle de la musique comme moteur de voyage, de dialogue interculturel, de valorisation identitaire et de développement économique. »
Tourisme comme levier de paix et de développement
Le chef de l’État a également souligné :
« Il souligne avec pertinence le rôle structurant du tourisme dans la consolidation de la paix, la préservation de l’intégrité territoriale et la lutte contre la pauvreté. »
Pour sa part, le Ministre du Tourisme, Didier M’pambia, a rappelé l’importance du secteur avant les conflits dans l’Est :
« Le tourisme a démontré son potentiel d’employabilité et son rôle comme puissant levier de lutte contre la pauvreté, en favorisant l’inclusion sociale et économique des populations vulnérables. »
Il a conclu en affirmant que des efforts institutionnels sont en cours pour surmonter cette crise, grâce à la résilience du peuple congolais.
Culture et diplomatie au cœur de l’événement
Présente à l’événement, la Ministre de la Culture et des Arts, Yollande Elebe, a mis l’accent sur la culture touristique, définie comme « le socle fondamental de toute politique publique cohérente ». Elle a qualifié cette première édition de véritable plateforme diplomatique, culturelle et économique, destinée à forger des liens entre les continents, promouvoir les industries créatives et mettre en lumière les traditions congolaises.
Lors de cette première journée, des prestations scéniques ont eu lieu à l’esplanade du Palais du Peuple, avec des artistes comme Fally Ipupa, Gaz Mawete, Galy Garvey et bien d’autres.
Un programme riche et international
Durant les trois jours — mercredi 16, jeudi 17 et vendredi 18 juillet — le festival rassemble une quarantaine de pays à Kinshasa. Parmi les activités phares :
- Une excursion en bateau sur le fleuve Congo (4 à 5 heures), incluant production musicale et buffet
- Des visites guidées : Place des Artistes (Matonge – Rond-point Victoire), monument Papa Wemba (Village Molokai), Stade Tata Raphaël (lieu du combat Ali vs. Foreman), Échangeur de Limete et Mémorial Lumumba
