Alger, le 5 juin 2025 – Le président rwandais Paul Kagame a entamé une visite officielle de deux jours en Algérie, marquée par un programme intensif axé sur la coopération bilatérale et les technologies émergentes. À son arrivée à Alger, le chef de l’État rwandais a été accueilli avec les honneurs par son homologue algérien, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, avant de participer à une série d’entretiens visant à renforcer les relations entre Kigali et Alger dans plusieurs secteurs stratégiques, notamment l’éducation, la technologie et l’innovation.
L’un des moments phares de cette visite a été la visite du président Kagame à l’École algérienne de l’intelligence artificielle, un établissement de pointe qui incarne les ambitions du pays en matière de développement technologique. Sur place, il a rencontré cinq étudiants rwandais bénéficiaires d’une bourse d’études, sélectionnés pour leur excellence académique et leur engagement dans le domaine des technologies de l’information.
« Je suis fier de voir nos jeunes talents s’épanouir dans un environnement aussi stimulant », a déclaré Paul Kagame. « L’intelligence artificielle est un domaine stratégique pour l’avenir de l’Afrique, et cette coopération entre le Rwanda et l’Algérie est un exemple concret de solidarité sud-sud. »
La visite du président Kagame à cette école spécialisée symbolise un partenariat croissant entre les deux pays dans le secteur des hautes technologies, une dynamique qui s’inscrit dans la vision africaine de transformation numérique inclusive et durable.
Au cours de son séjour, le président rwandais doit également rencontrer plusieurs responsables économiques algériens et visiter des installations industrielles, dans le but de renforcer les échanges commerciaux et les investissements mutuels.
La visite s’inscrit dans le cadre d’un rapprochement stratégique entre l’Afrique centrale et l’Afrique du Nord, basé sur le partage d’expertise, la formation des jeunes et l’autonomisation par le savoir.
