Kampala, le 28 mai 2025 – Le président ougandais Yoweri Museveni a souhaité la bienvenue aux chefs d’État et aux délégations présentes à Kampala pour la douzième réunion de haut niveau du mécanisme régional de surveillance du cadre de paix, de sécurité et de coopération pour la République démocratique du Congo (RDC) et la région. Dans son allocution d’ouverture, le président Museveni a insisté sur l’importance de la coopération régionale pour assurer la stabilité et la sécurité dans la région des Grands Lacs. Il a salué la présence de hautes personnalités venues de plusieurs pays, soulignant le caractère inclusif de cette rencontre
Parmi les délégations présentes, on note la participation de Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner, ministre d’État chargée des Affaires étrangères, de la Coopération internationale et de la Francophonie de la RDC. Le président burundais Évariste Ndayishimiye est également présent, témoignant de l’engagement du Burundi dans les efforts de paix régionale. Enfin, la délégation rwandaise est menée par le général James Kabarebe, figure emblématique des questions de sécurité dans la région.
Cette réunion s’inscrit dans le cadre des efforts continus pour renforcer la surveillance et la coordination des initiatives de paix, de sécurité et de coopération entre les pays de la région. Les discussions portent notamment sur les défis sécuritaires persistants et la promotion du dialogue politique.
