Une délégation parlementaire en provenance de Kinshasa séjourne actuellement à Walikale, dans le territoire du Nord-Kivu, pour une mission d’évaluation du fonctionnement de la société minière Alphamin Bisie, active dans l’exploitation de l’étain. Parmi les élus présents figure le député national Charles Sabungo, représentant de la circonscription de Goma, connu pour son engagement en faveur des droits des communautés affectées par les activités minières.
Cette mission parlementaire s’inscrit dans un contexte marqué par la nécessité de renforcer la transparence et la bonne gouvernance dans la gestion des ressources naturelles en République démocratique du Congo. Le sous-sol de l’est du pays, riche en minerais stratégiques tels que l’étain, le coltan et le tungstène, alimente des chaînes d’approvisionnement internationales, mais demeure aussi au cœur d’enjeux complexes liés aux conflits armés, à la corruption et au développement local.
Sur place, la délégation a procédé à une série de consultations avec les responsables de la société Alphamin Bisie, les autorités locales et les représentants des communautés riveraines. L’objectif : évaluer les conditions d’exploitation, le respect des normes environnementales et la redistribution des bénéfices issus des activités minières.
En marge de cette mission, l’honorable Charles Sabungo a rencontré les représentants des déplacés internes installés à Walikale. Ces échanges ont permis de recueillir les préoccupations des populations affectées par l’insécurité et les déplacements forcés, souvent aggravés par les tensions autour de l’exploitation minière.
« L’exploitation des ressources naturelles doit avant tout profiter à la population locale », a déclaré le député, insistant sur la nécessité d’un modèle de développement qui associe croissance économique et stabilité sociale.
À travers cette initiative, le parlement congolais entend renforcer le contrôle citoyen et institutionnel sur le secteur minier, afin de promouvoir une gestion responsable et équitable des ressources. Un enjeu majeur pour la consolidation de la paix et la cohésion sociale dans la région des Grands Lacs, où les minerais ne devraient plus être synonymes de conflit, mais plutôt de développement partagé.
